Ancient scriptures extol the profound significance of the delicate processes of conception, pregnancy, and the spiritual evolution of a soul within the mother's womb. Recognizing the intricate dynamics at play, Chinmaya Mission has curated a unique program to help you understand the unique needs of your unborn child. Led by trained facilitators, this program delves into the rites of passage (known as samskara), as well as the significance of sound, energy, mantras, emotions, and the mind - all deeply entrenched in Vedic wisdom.

Our Yoga Therapist

As a pre-school teacher I have witnessed firsthand what a great difference the right environment makes to a child’s success and overall wellbeing. I wholeheartedly recommend that you proactively start creating the right environment even before your child is born, so they enter this world with the strongest possible foundation.

Our Early Childhood Teacher

It is known that the child’s mind is most absorbent between the ages of 0-6, and hence it’s the ideal age to exposes them the teachings and values you wish for them to imbibe for the rest of their lives. Having seen the impact of this first hand through our Shishu Vihar classes, imagine how much more receptive the baby’s mind is in the womb where there are no distractions. The beauty of this time is that the mother has the power to gift the baby whatever she exposes herself too.

Our Shishuvihar Program Co-ordinator

The first 1000 days from conception to a child's second year profoundly shape future health and well-being. Early experiences significantly impact lifelong health, with challenges like obesity and mental health issues traced back to this period. The fetus adapts to its environment, influenced by the mother's physical and mental state. Adverse experiences during these critical days can cascade into lifelong effects, making intervention challenging afterward. While change is possible later, the best opportunity for optimal development lies within the first 1000 days. Three crucial periods—pre-conception, pregnancy, and infancy— highlight opportunities for intervention. The Chinmaya Garbha Samskara course offers comprehensive support during this vital phase.

Our Pediatrician

A mother’s (and family’s) mental health during pregnancy significantly influences childhood development. Research indicates that maternal stress can impact the fetus, affecting brain development and emotional regulation in the child. Resilience and strong anchors have a positive impact on maternal mental health during pregnancy - which is essential for promoting optimal outcomes in childhood development.

Our Psychologist

This course has provided me with the confidence and the energy to provide ongoing love and support to my wife and babies.
Although we knew much of the samskars and rituals, it was nice to go a little deeper and understand the meaning behind each of them. I think however, the main thing I got out of this was in relation to mindset and being more mindful of various aspects of the pregnancy and child raising.
The Garbh Sanskar program is a beautiful way to initiate couples into parenthood, to prepare them mentally to take up this responsibility and to make them aware of their duties and responsibilities towards each other and their child.
The best part about this program is that it answers the “why” and “how” of our traditions so that we can actually celebrate each milestone making it so much more meaningful and memorable. A must attend for all expecting parents.
We did the 3rd month havan which we learned about in class along with our families which was beautiful. It really united both of our families and reminded everyone that there is a growing being inside me!
I would highly recommend the Garbha Samskara course for all couples who are thinking about having a baby in the near future or who are currently pregnant. We can't imagine having begun this beautiful phase of our lives in any other way. Thank you for sharing the most important knowledge.

“A heart filled with love, integrated with pearls of knowledge from this course, will prepare soon to be parents to guide their new child on a meaningful life Journey. Every family will reap immense benefits from these practices.”
