Swami Shrikarananda is the resident teacher (acharya) for Chinmaya Mission in NSW, ACT and QLD. Swamiji grew up in as an active CHYK in Melbourne, Australia. Swamiji completed his secondary education at Syndal High School and Bachelor of Business (Major in Accounting & Information Systems) at Swinburne University.
As a youngster in Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK), Swamiji learnt under the tutelage of Swami Swaroopananda (Head of Chinmaya Mission Australia, U.K. and Far East) and served in the mission for many years. Swamiji was a dynamic leader for the youth and organised many events and programs. In doing so, Swamiji was inspired to take up the life of Brahmacharya, and undertook the Chinmaya Mission Residential Vedanta Course in Sandeepany Sadhanalaya (Powai, Maharashtra, India). Upon becoming a Brahmacharya in 2004, he began serving in Sydney, Australia. Since then, he has helped many unleash their true potential, by being a skilled teacher, devoted mentor and dedicated friend. His humble and loving nature, dedicated and dynamic attitude, and wealth of knowledge are an ideal for all to learn from and follow.
He was given Sannyaasa Deeksha on Mahashivaratri 2016, by Swami Tejomayananda (Head of Chinmaya Mission worldwide).
We are indebted to Swamiji for his constant love and dedicated service. We have gained so much knowledge and devotion through his guidance and example.
