Chinmaya Mission Australia (Sydney Division) under the guidance of Br Gopal Chaitanya has started a new chapter in Brisbane on 24th August 2008.

It all started with a thought by Br Gopal that it would be nice to start something in Brisbane. That same month Swami Swaroopanandaji tells Br Gopal to start something in Brisbane. Now how to start? Who does he contact? At that time, a sevika named Shivy from Adelaide Chinmaya Mission informs that Priya (Sevika from Adelaide was moving to Brisbane). To add to it Jagadesanji (a long time sevak in Melbourne) also had moved there. So now we have two devotees who can run the classes. To put the icing on the cake, our Chris Grimmer (Long and ardent devotee of Gurudev) had moved to Gold Coast only about 3 years ago.

It was amazing how everything fell into place. We found that Venkateshanji who joined the sevaks team was also a devotee.

Preparations were made, a number of meetings were held. Finally the Brisbane classes started smoothly on Krishna Janmashtami 24th August, 2008 at 10AM.

We started a Balavihar Class (Priya, Chris) and Geeta Video Study Class (Jagadesanji and Vakateshanji).

With God's grace and Gurudev's blessings we have started with 13 children in the Balavihar class and 8 adults in the geeta Video study Class. With His Grace it will only increase.

How will everything go?

"We need to always remember that we are only instruments of the Lord and Gurudev. It is Gurudev's wish. He plans, He puts the thought and He executes, but gives the glory to his devotees. Let's see how Gurudev's vision unfolds for Brisbane. Let's be the perfect instrument." says Br Gopal Chaitanya.
