As a regular attendee of the Sunday Family Program at the Chinmaya Dham where I had been studying the Bhagavad Gita for more than ten years, I could not resist the urge of the “Chinmaya charge” and creative enthusiasm it brings. Consequently, when we moved to our new home at Lynbrook near Cranbourne I was planning to start a Chinmaya Centre there. The grace of Gurudev and Swami Swaroopanandaji exalted us to go ahead. Brni Niveditaji’s availability was perfectly matched with the timing of the classes on Sundays. Her leadership right from the beginning was marvellous and we had a fantastic start with the Cranbourne/Lynbrook public talk on the “Logic of Spirituality” followed by a vibrant Bhajan night and Shanthi’s Samashti Biksha back home.

The following Sunday was a well awaited one. Our Lynbrook Centre commenced with a splendid first class conducted by Brni Nivedita and Sai Aparna with the children. We are following Swami Chinmayanandaji’s concept of serving young families with simultaneous classes for the young ones and for their parents. We were indeed delighted that the attendance of the first classes both Balavihar and Gita Study Group was excellent. The adults enjoyed Niveditaji’s presence and her interpretation of Gurudev’s video "The Logic of Spirituality". All of us are looking forward to starting the Bhagavad Gita. Sai Aparna’s approach to children was exemplary.

There was such a lively and joyful enthusiasm amongst the young families. People didn’t want to go home. There is no doubt in our minds that we have been truly blessed with some very dedicated families and friends who have been very supportive throughout. It gives us joy to note that they had not only undertaken the entire voluntary work, but they sponsored the free public talk as well.

We are sure that this would be a great opportunity for the residents of this part of Melbourne to come and learn the insightful teaching of Vedanta from our beloved Brni Nivedita at this auspicious time. All are welcome! We offer all our activities at the feet of our Master, a true Teacher, our Gurudev, who always lived for others. May His Blessings be with us for all our future activities!
